2024 Nubra Camp Fundraiser During this fundraising campaign we were able to raise $8,000 to support Dr. Norboo and the LIP team for the 2024 ATMA-LIP Nubra Valley medical camp! The camp was a great success and we were able to provide comprehensive medical aid to almost 100 people during this time.
Zanskar Medical Camp (2022) Fundraiser During this short fund-raising campaign in 2022 we were able to raise over $6,000 to help support Dr. Norboo and the Ladakh Institute of Prevention in conducting their mobile medical camps for the people of Zanskar, one of the most remote regions of Ladakh. The campaign (and camp!) were a great success, being able to provide comprehensive medical and preventative care for over 220 people in the area!
Pub Night Fundraiser (Mar 30, 2017) This event at the Hemingway Public House was a sold-out event and we were able to raise over $2,500 for the ATMA-LIP Mobile Health Clinics project!
ATMA Art Sale (Dec 9-10, 2014) On Dec 9-10, 2014, ATMA sold paintings collected from around the world to raise money for the ATMA-LIP Mobile Health Clinics Project. During this two-day event at the University of Campus Foothills Medical Campus we were able to raise $540!
ATMA-TRAS Film Screening (Sep 17, 2014) On Sep 17th, 2014, in conjunction with the Trans-Himalayan Aid Society (TRAS), we hosted a film screening to fundraise for overseas development projects in Nepal. The film entitled “Sherpas – The True Heroes of Mt. Everest” was well received by the audience of the Health Sciences Centre in the University of Calgary Foothills Campus. During this event we were able to raise $200 for TRAS and $100 for the ATMA-LIP project providing mobile health clinics to the people of Ladakh.
Typhoon Haiyan Silent Auction Fundraiser (Nov 19, 2013) On Nov 19th 2013 we hosted a silent auction at the University of Calgary Medical School Campus to raise money for Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF)/Doctors Without Borders relief operations in the Philippines. We sold paintings collected by ATMA President Indy Sahota during his travels in Vietnam. The event raised $425 which, as the Canadian government was matching donations, resulted in $850 to go towards MSF emergency operations.
BMO Vancouver Half-Marathon (May 5, 2013) On May 5th 2013, a 17 year old high school student from Surrey, BC, Gurdeep Sahota, ran a half-marathon (21 km/13 mi) to raise money for ATMA. This was Gurdeep’s first competitive racing event. His hard work and dedication enabled him to finish with a time of 1 hr 44 min and raise over $3,000! That is an incredible achievement for such a young man and we at ATMA are very proud of what he has accomplished.
ATMA Club Night (April 5, 2013) A Thousand Metres Above hosted a club night fundraiser at Caprice Night Club in Vancouver to raise money for our 5000 by 5/5 Campaign. All of us on the ATMA team had a great time and we raised approximately $1,000; all of which went towards our 5000 by 5/5 campaign.
