atma-lhf medical equipment project
This was the first project funded by ATMA after its establishment in 2012. It was completed in conjunction with our regional partner, the Ladakh Heart Foundation (LHF).
Prior to this project the main LHF hospital complex had been built but no medical equipment had yet been procured. The purpose of this project was to provide life-saving medical and surgical equipment for the LHF hospital. Since then, the LHF has been able to provide outpatient clinics for patients from all over Ladakh as well as provide a number of surgical procedures free of cost. Outpatient clinics at the LHF hospital are now running full time with over 700 patients treated each year and 400 surgeries. This phenomenal achievement could not have happened without this project. We would like to thank the many donors who helped make this happen! |
